I’ve been drawing up these little beauties as a spare time project, when I have spare time that is! They are quite time consuming but good to lose yourself in for an hour or two. No deadline to meet but I’m hoping to get enough together to filter out a batch to use in a book of some description. ideas and suggestions welcome

This will be the third piece of cover art i have done and as always a pleasure to work on. Just need to complete the rest of the design elements and Bobs yer uncle!

Welcome to Northampton

I’m sure there are fans of Northampton out there somewhere. Those very folk may be interested in adorning their wall at home or workplace with this rather funky artprint featuring a vintage style view of the Derngate.

‘Welcome to Northampton – Heart of the Midlands’ designed by yours truly depicts the towns back in the day when the sun always shined, buses always came in two’s and gentlemen wore ill fitting de-mob suits.

Mont Ventoux from Avignon

Thought i’d post this little sketch of Mt Ventoux from Avignon i did last year. Although the mountain is slightly obscured by a sodding great tree!

It was quite nice to sit and sketch in the sunshine for an hour before heading into the town for a cold beer. It was a holiday after all!

Early peek..

Been a busy start to the year so have been a little slack with my posts. I have been busy on a few different projects, some of which I shall post images when I get time One is an idea for a kids series I’m working on with long time collaborator, Keith Chapman. The sketch shows a quick doodle for one of the main characters. More on this as it develops, but I think a few more lunchtime sessions should do the trick. Good news too for all the Pratt fan out there. We have some real interest in taking ‘Pratts World of Wonder’ to the next step and unleashing it to the public giving them the opportunity to buy products from his famous collection. We are currently finalising the gift range and designing the packaging so hold on to your top hats and stay tuned for more on Prof Pratt. Meanwhile a photo of the man himself.

Monsta Misfits

Been sketching out some bits for a proposed board game idea in collaboration with co-creator Keith Chapman. The idea started out as a collectable character set but has moved on a bit. It’s been knocking about for a while but we happen to think it’s got potential as a board game so we’re giving it a go. Hopefully one day some of my stupid ideas will come to something! in the meantime enjoy these little doodles.

Storyboards

All the frames done now for Heavy Heart. Been a close one as filming starts at the weekend! I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together now and meeting the crew. These are the first proper storyboards I have done so has been a nice job and a learning exercise should more come my way. Being a short film there are 130/140 boards in total so easy to keep a track of the action. I’m sure a feature film is a different thing entirely -thousands of boards!! I have also been designing and illustrating posters that appear in the film so it’s gonna be nice seeing those too. Drawing garages today, rock n roll!

His Heavy Heart

Still going full steam ahead on the storyboarding for ‘His Heavy Heart’ in the comfort of the local boozer.Fat glass of red courtesy of Mitch [Jenkins] to help the creative process along. I’m looking forward to another session tomorrow where we hope to complete the remaining frames before a short pause for Christmas. I might have a glass of red ..or I might have a coffee. Let’s wait and see.
